I have had my final meetings and learned that my roommates will be a lovely girl named Caroline (like the Neil Diamond song)who I have gotten to know at our meetings and a girl named Becka who I met while we were signing up for rooms.
Currently I am leaving in 5 days. I am nervous, anxious and beyond excited about all this. The only downfall is I constantly feel like I am going to hurl. I am a hurricane of emotion. The realization of all this has been slowly setting in and it's weird to think that at this time next week I will be checking in to my hotel and getting situated in my rooms. IN CAMBODIA! Just in case you were wondering, it's 79 degrees in Phnom Pehn right now. Jealous? Not even Ashley "it's Christmas day and I am wearing a t-shirt" Humphrey can beat that. For those of you who are not privileged enough to know Ash, she is my nutty cousin who can not be contained by United States borders. She is currently studying in Lebanon for the school year. (Love you babe!)
I started my typhoid meds yesterday and I probably should have read the side effects better. Apparently, one side effects is gas. Like painful, uncontrollable gas. Oy! Luckily I have two dogs to blame it on!
More later!

I got shot today. 3 times.
So um, holy crap. If I would have known how freaking painful this trip was going to be I would have maybe rethought this whole adventure. Wait, who the heck am I kidding! I wouldn't miss this trip for anything! But seriously, I started the Hep A series today and got my tetanus shot today. Then on top of it all they are doing a blood smear to see if I got my Hep B series. Because, I am about the age where is was required for school. Sooooo not only did the stinkin' nurse shoot me, she called me OLD too. Ugh. I also have 5 prescriptions I have to get filled: Anti malaria, anti typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, and one for traveler's diarrhea.I will be filling the diarrhea one, since I make it a point not to poop my pants.

My very first blog!
Ok, so this is my very first blog on my new blog site. I used to do this on myspace but that is like so 3 years ago! I set this up so I can journal about my time in Cambodia. I will be studying there in January of 2010. It would be nice to have a record of that! Then when I come back who knows what will come of this. Check back soon for more updates.
